Tri-State Divorce Companion LLC provides non-legal emotional support, personal organization, courthouse preparation, and courthouse accompaniment for individuals navigating separation or uncontested divorce.

Our role is to help you feel more grounded, organized, supported, and prepared as you move through this transition.

We are not a law firm, therapist, counselor, mediator, or legal document preparation company. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, legal strategy, legal document preparation, therapy, counseling, mediation, or financial advice.
 

Section 2: What We Can Help With

Tri-State Divorce Companion LLC may support clients with:
 

• Emotional support during separation or uncontested divorce
• Grounding and confidence-building before appointments or courthouse visits
• Personal organization of notes, reminders, folders, timelines, and checklists
• Appointment preparation and practical next-step planning
• Courthouse accompaniment and waiting-room support
• Helping you feel less alone and more prepared during the process

Our support is practical, compassionate, and non-legal.
 

Section 3: What We Do Not Provide

Tri-State Divorce Companion LLC does not provide:
 

• Legal advice
• Legal representation
• Legal strategy
• Legal document preparation
• Help choosing, completing, editing, or filing legal forms
• Interpretation of court orders or legal documents
• Mediation
• Therapy or counseling
• Financial, tax, or investment advice
• Speaking on your behalf in court or to court staff
• Making legal decisions for you

Clients remain responsible for their own legal decisions, filings, deadlines, forms, and court-related requirements.
 

Section 4: If You Ask a Legal Question
 

If you ask a legal question, we will gently remind you that we cannot answer it.

We may help you locate official court resources, attorney referral options, legal aid resources, or publicly available information, but we cannot explain what you should file, what your documents mean, what your legal rights are, or what decision you should make.

For legal questions, you should contact a licensed attorney, legal aid organization, or court-approved resource in your state.
 

Section 5: Courthouse Accompaniment Boundaries

During courthouse accompaniment, a companion may:
 

• Meet you at or near the courthouse
• Walk in with you
• Help you locate the correct office, courtroom, or waiting area
• Sit with you while you wait
• Offer calm, discreet emotional support
• Help you feel grounded before and after your appearance

A companion may not:

• Speak for you in court
• Represent you
• Give legal advice
• Tell you what to say
• Complete or review legal documents
• Negotiate with another party
• Interfere with court staff, attorneys, judges, or legal proceedings
 

Section 6: Emotional Support Boundaries
 

Emotional Support Sessions are not therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, or mental health treatment.

These sessions are designed to provide calm, compassionate, non-clinical support during a difficult life transition.

If you are in crisis, in immediate danger, or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please call 911, contact emergency services, or reach out to a crisis hotline immediately.
 

Section 7: Client Responsibility

By using Tri-State Divorce Companion LLC services, you understand that you remain responsible for:
 

• Your legal decisions
• Your legal documents
• Your court filings
• Your deadlines
• Your appointments
• Your financial decisions
• Your safety decisions
• Following court instructions and requirements
 

Tri-State Divorce Companion LLC provides support, organization, and accompaniment, but we do not replace legal, therapeutic, financial, or emergency professionals.
